All parents / carers are automatically members of Friends of Longfleet School. The Friends plan and assist the school with several events each term. In the past few years our fundraising and support has helped the school buy its first School Mini Bus as well as music equipment and subsidising school trips to ensure every pupil at Longfleet gets the best opportunities.
Last term we raised £1,400, and out of the total funds paid the £5 per pupil for their school trips; paid for the Christmas disco for years 2 - 6 and Christmas visit from Father Christmas for reception and year 1; and paid for the Climbing Wall. We also provided disposables to help with smooth running of Christmas lunch for the children; provided refreshments for Year 6 Dictionary presentation; and provided drinks and served refreshments at the Year 3 tea parties.
Our aim is to enhance the school community by:
Can you help?
If you can offer support from cake-making to washing up (oh yes, glamour!), from sticking up posters to putting up sheds, spare half an hour to help set up or clear away equipment, there is always a lot to do and more hands would be very welcome.
Charity Matched Giving
We have been helped enormously in the past by this type of donation. If you help at an event, many companies or businesses (e.g. bank, building society, insurance, petrol, phone or supermarket) will match the amount raised giving a great boost to our fundraising efforts. lease ask your employer if they have a similar scheme and tell us if they do.
