PE and Sport is a big part of a child's education at Longfleet. As well as delivering at least 3 hours of scheduled curriculum PE into a weekly timetable, there are opportunities for children at Longfleet to participate in a wide variety of sports, both at a competitive and recreational level. Fixtures In Spring Term 2:



PE Curriculum Spring Term 2:

Each unit incorporates the School Values of kindness, aspiration and resilience.


Reception: Teamwork Games and Catching and Recieving 

Year 1: Hockey

Holding the stick, finding space, dribbling, simple passing

Year 2: Hockey

Finding space, dribbling, passing, shooting

Year 3: Handball

Passes, shooting, moving with the ball, rules, small games

Year 4: Handball

Passes, shooting, moving with the ball, rules, small games

Year 5: Tag Rugby

Passing, positional play, tagging, defending, closing space

Year 6: Tag Rugby

Short and long passing, positional play, defending, officiating, tactics and strategy



At the end of each unit, House "tournaments" are played in which the children get a chance to showcase their skills in the sport they have learnt that term.

Cricket - Poole Town Cricket Club

Teams from U8-U15. Also undertake the ALLStars Cricket initiative for Under 8s to get involved in the game.
