PE and Sport is a big part of a child's education at Longfleet. As well as delivering at least 3 hours of scheduled curriculum PE into a weekly timetable, there are opportunities for children at Longfleet to participate in a wide variety of sports, both at a competitive and recreational level. PE Curriculum Summer Term 1:

Each unit incorporates the School Values of kindness, aspiration and resilience.

 

Reception: Mindful movements and athletics 

Year 1: Hockey

Holding the stick, finding space, dribbling, simple passing

Year 2: Cricket

Catching, simple rules, striking and fielding

Year 3: Cricket

Catching, simple rules, striking and fielding

Year 4: Cricket

Close catching, Striking placement, simple rules, fielding techniques

Year 5: Athletics

Officiating, team running, Discus, Javelin, Shot Put, Timing

Year 6: Athletics

Officiating, team running, Discus, Javelin, Shot Put, Timing

 

 

At the end of each unit, House "tournaments" are played in which the children get a chance to showcase their skills in the sport they have learnt that term.

Teams from U8-U15. Also undertake the ALLStars Cricket initiative for Under 8s to get involved in the game.
