PE and Sport is a big part of a child's education at Longfleet. As well as delivering at least 3 hours of scheduled curriculum PE into a weekly timetable, there are opportunities for children at Longfleet to participate in a wide variety of sports, both at a competitive and recreational level. PE Curriculum Autumn Term 2:

Each unit incorporates the School Values of kindness, aspiration and resilience.


Reception: Catching and sending skills

Year 1: Co-operation and teamwork games

Year 2: Hockey

Finding space, dribbling, passing, shooting

Year 3: Netball

Passing, making space, shooting, tactics and positional play

Year 4: Tag Rugby

Passing, positional play, tagging, defending, closing space

Year 5: Handball

Ball skills, shooting, passing, tactics and officiating

Year 6: Hockey

Passing (short and long), dribbling, shooting, tactics and officiating.



At the end of each unit, House "tournaments" are played in which the children get a chance to showcase their skills in the sport they have learnt that term.

Cricket - Poole Town Cricket Club

Teams from U8-U15. Also undertake the ALLStars Cricket initiative for Under 8s to get involved in the game.
