Home Reading and TT Rock Stars

Home Reading: Please make sure that you read every day and record these reads in your Reading Record Book. Not only does this develop your fluency and comprehension of the text but it also allows you to escape to other worlds and have amazing adventures!

 

TT Rock Stars: You should have your log-in details for TT Rock Stars. Try to go on Rock Stars regularly to see how quick you are in Year 6! This will also really help you in all areas of Maths once you are back in school.

  • The Guggenheim Explore the Guggenheim- have a virtual tour of the incredible building and find out information about some of the artist whose work is displayed here.
  • One Minute in a Museum A collection of short videos to allow your children to explore the incredible pieces from the Louvre.
  • Artful Parent Lots of great art and crafts ideas with step-by-step guides to help.
  • Poole Museum Take a virtual tour, explore exhibitions or have a go at some of the activities.
  • Arts and Culture Explore all aspects of art and culture, from music to virtual tours of countries from around the world.
  • Draw with Rob Interactive tutorials from a great children’s author and illustrator, he also does a live draw–along on his Twitter feed @RobBiddulph.

  • Maude Sport PE ideas and a link to a Disney Dance Tutorial.
  • Book of Beasties A fantastic free resource to use with your children to help open discussions and to promote mental wellbeing through a range of activities.
  • Yoga Easy to follow Yoga programmes for beginners.

Inspire

  • Code Learn to code step-by-step, for ages 4-18.
  • Access Mars Explore the surface of Mars with images recorded by NASA’s Curiosity rover.
  • British Museum An interactive journey through time, continents and cultures, featuring fascinating artefacts from across human history.
  • NASA A chance to look through the entire media library of the US space agency.

  • Chess Kid Sign up for free and follow the online lessons to perfect you chess skills and play against other children or the computer.
