PE and Sport is a big part of a child's education at Longfleet. As well as delivering at least 3 hours of scheduled curriculum PE into a weekly timetable, there are opportunities for children at Longfleet to participate in a wide variety of sports, both at a competitive and recreational level. PE Curriculum Autumn Term 1:

Each unit incorporates the School Values of kindness, aspiration and resilience.

 

Reception: Movement and Balance 

Year 1: Gross motor skills

Catching, movement and balance.

Year 2: Football (with AFC Bournemouth Coaches)

Shooting, dribbling, passing, close control, tactics.

Year 3: Golf (With PGA Level 4 coach Deej Stratman)

Putting, chipping, rules, mini-games

Year 4: Netball

Passing techniques, moving into space, shooting, simple tactics, defending.

Year 5: Rugby (with coaching professionals "Rippa Rugby)

Positioning, movement, passing, tactics, tagging.

Year 6: Netball

Positioning, movement, passing, shooting, tactics, umpiring.

 

 

At the end of each unit, House "tournaments" are played in which the children get a chance to showcase their skills in the sport they have learnt that term.

Both clubs are friendly, youth-orientated clubs.

 

Cricket - Poole Town Cricket Club

Teams from U8-U15. Also undertake the ALLStars Cricket initiative for Under 8s to get involved in the game.
