Year 3 and 4 Football Festival
Thu 28 Sep 2017Longfleet took ten keen footballers to Carter Community School to participate in a 7 a side festival, where we played against teams from Hamworthy, Baden Powell and Ocean Academy. After a disappointing start against Baden Powell B, losing 3-0 against a strong team, our results improved dramatically. A 2-0 win against Baden Powell A was followed by score draws against the two Hamworthy teams and Ocean Academy. The footballers showed improved touch and passing as the games progressed, and scored excellent goals through William W and George V. A big thank you to the parents who came along to support. There will be many more games in the future as we look to progress to having at least two Year 3/4 teams.

House Day
Thu 28 Sep 2017There was much excitement around school today as we held a House Day. The children spent the day with their fellow House members completing a rotation of musical, sporting and creative tasks. They also had the chance to listen to the prospective House and Vice Captains give their speeches. Each pupil then had the opportunity to vote and the Captains were duly elected for the year. Congratulations to everyone who was nominated for the aspiration they demonstrated and well done to those that were voted into office.

Magical Me!
Tue 26 Sep 2017Reception have settled well into our school routines and have enjoyed sharing their 'Magical Me' boxes with their new classmates. We have talked about our likes and dislikes, our families and our favourite toys and activities. Thank you to all our parents and carers who have helped the children to create such exciting and beautifully decorated boxes!

Cross Country at Sandbanks
Fri 22 Sep 2017Our Year 5 and 6 Boys' Cross Country team ventured down to Sandbanks beach this week to take part in the first event of the year. Our school values of Resilience and Aspiration were both on display as the boys completed the 2km run as fast as they could.

Go WILD for Reading!
Mon 18 Sep 2017On Friday, Key Stage One went absolutely WILD for reading!
After a calm morning worship was suddenly interrupted by two WILD jungle animals dancing to 'I like to move it, move it', the children were buzzing with excitement to complete the 6 reading challenges left for them!
They set about reciting poetry, reading in the willow dome, performing stories, illustrating and much, much more...with each task leading them to an anagram letter. Once all 6 challenges were complete, the children spelt out the words: GO WILD!
This launched our brand new reading reward scheme for Key Stage One, where pupils have the chance to collect WILD animal badges to celebrate their reading successes. The more they read, the more badges they earn...we hope they have brilliant fun going WILD for reading!

Rockley - Day Five
Fri 15 Sep 2017We've had an incredible week away at Rockley! All the staff have been very proud of the children for their positivity and behaviour. Our last day has involved activities on land including rock climbing, crazy golf, crabbing and basketball. Well done everyone for a super week!

Rockley - Day Four
Thu 14 Sep 2017What a great day of watersports we have had! We have been sailing, paddle boarding and windsurfing. Tonight we are celebrating our last evening with a disco!

Rockley - Day Three
Wed 13 Sep 2017Today has been very windy at Rockley and we have had a lot of fun sailing. Some of us have sailed catermarans and some of us have sailed picos. This afternoon we played a variety of different beach games and then had hot chocolate and biscuits!

Rockley - Day Two
Tue 12 Sep 2017The children have had another amazing day at Rockley, so far they have taken part in 4 different activities! They have been paddle boarding, raft building and kayaking and have even had a go at steering powerboats. We are hoping that the rain will hold off for our evening entertainment and are all looking forward to a delicious meal of sausages and mash.

Mon 11 Sep 2017We have had a great first day at Rockley! The staff have been very impressed with the children's enthusiasm. We have been sailing and powerboating and are now getting ready for our fun evening activity.
