  • Year 6 Kwik Cricket Competition

    Tue 22 May 2018

Longfleet were put up against five different schools in this annual competition, held at Poole Grammar School, and left the event undefeated with 5 wins from 5. For many of the children, this was their first competitive tournament and they applied themselves brilliantly, their fielding in particular was superb. The match against St Joseph’ Primary, in which Olly was involved in 3 direct run outs and Louie took a spectacular diving catch was a highlight. The children were a credit to the school throughout and played every match with enthusiasm and a sense of fun.

    Other highlights:

    -An all run 6

-Not losing ia single wicket in 3/5 matches

    -Scoring 295-0

-Charlie playing his first ever match and top scoring in two matches.

  • Year 6 Football at Poole Stadium

    Wed 16 May 2018

Longfleet played in the quarter finals of a 7-a-side football tournament against Bishop Aldhelms, which has been organised by Poole Pirates to commemorate their 70th anniversary. The match was played in good spirit, with both sides showing flair on the ball. An early goal for Longfleet, scored by Louie, was enough to win it, and although St Aldhelms had their chances, they were brilliantly saved by Bruno, who was a rock in Longfleet’s goal. The win takes Longfleet through to the semi-finals and another chance to play in front of a capacity crowd at Poole Stadium. Thank you to the parents for their support in what was a brilliant game to watch.

  • Tennis Triumph

    Wed 16 May 2018
Massive congratulations go out to the Year 3 and 4 Tennis Team who triumphed at the Dorset School Games tournament this week! The competition was held in glorious conditions at Branksome Park Tennis Club and our team of Eloise, Alfie, Holly and Zayn played some spectacular tennis, finishing at the top of their group! As always, Team Longfleet played with skill, enthusiasm and great sportsmanship. The children had a brilliant afternoon and what a fantastic result to come home with medals!
  • Reception bus trip

    Mon 14 May 2018
Reception had an unexpected treat when they were invited on a bus trip around Poole with a visit to the bus station and bus wash.  This trip was kindly offered, free of charge, by Mr and Mrs Wilson, employees of Morebus and grandparents of a child in Butterfly Class.  The children had a wonderful time and the experience has definitely fuelled their role play and storytelling since!  Thank you to the bus company for their generosity in supporting our 'Out and About' topic.
  • KS1 Howieson Cup Athletics

  • Kwik Cricket vs Baden Powell

    Tue 08 May 2018
Year 6 travelled to Baden Powell School to compete in their first cricket match of the season. Longfleet batted first and had a solid start, with Olly in particular hitting some clean cricket shots.  Longfleet ended with 239, which was a good score against some strong bowling.  It was then Longfleet's turn to bowl. Some accurate bowling from Bruno, Olly and Jamie couldn't quite stop Baden Powell reaching the target and surpassing it, eventually winning by 6 runs. In the end a close game with some great individual performances and lots of positives heading into the tournament at Poole Grammar School.
