  • Year 3/4 Football Tournament

    Tue 28 Nov 2017
Hamworthy Park Junior School hosted an entertaining tournament comprising of 2 teams each from Longfleet, Hamworthy and Ocean Academy. Although not officially considered "competitive" matches, good commitment was on show; strong tackles and brave blocks in defence were supported by some well-taken goals by both Longfleet teams. Special mention must go to Logan, who deputising in goal in the final match, made a save at full stretch, reminiscent of David de Gea, to tip the ball away for a corner via the post.
  • House Day!

    Tue 28 Nov 2017
On Monday 27th November, the whole school took part in our second 'House Day' of the year. It was great to see children from different classes and year groups working together on art activities linked to their house theme, completing sporting challenges and learning songs linked to our values. Thank you to the parents and carers for providing suitably bright clothing as you will see in the photos that are coming soon!
  • Home Learning Exhibition

    Mon 27 Nov 2017
Last week we held our Autumn Term Home Learning Exhibition.  The children are given the option to produce a piece of work linked to their current topic and we were very impressed with the creativity and quality of the work that was brought in.  The exhibition enabled all the pupils and their parents to see the models, pictures, powerpoints, games and written work from across the school.  Some of the work has been selected to stay on display in the Hub area of the school.
  • Kindness Week

    Fri 24 Nov 2017

Last week we explored our school value of ‘Be Kind’ during friendship week through our ‘Kindness Counts’ campaign. We had several special assemblies and activities throughout the week. Each class was given a ‘kindness owl’ to help look out for acts of kindness and children also received certificates, wristbands and stickers in recognition of their kind acts. A 'Keep Safe Council' has now been elected and further information will follow shortly. A huge thank you to all that applied - it proves how much everyone at Longfleet cares about making our school a safe and happy place.

  • Year 5 and Year 1 Reading

    Thu 23 Nov 2017

Today, the Eagles class had a great time reading to the Year1s. They thought really carefully about the sorts of questions they could ask to make sure the Year 1s understood their stories. The Year 1s listened really nicely and the Year 5s were great role models!

  • Year 1 Scaplen's Court Trip

    Tue 21 Nov 2017
The Year 1 children had a brilliant time at Scaplen's Court, learning about and playing with a range of toys, all from an era long before the teachers were born! Favourite toys amongst the children included bagatelle, the spinning top and table skittles. Thank you to the parents who helped on the trip and to Jane, the Scaplen's Court guru, who was great fun and taught the children a great deal of interesting facts.
  • Year 4 Digestion Experiments

    Fri 17 Nov 2017
Year 4 carried out some very yucky science on Thursday 16th November. We showed the digestive process using everyday objects and it was great fun!
  • Y5 & 6 Boys' Football 7-a-side Poole Finals

    Fri 17 Nov 2017

On Thursday 16th November, our boys team from Year 5 and 6 competed in the Poole 7-a-side finals at Carter Community School. We had qualified for these finals with draws against Hamworthy and Broadstone and wins against Oakdale, Baden Powell and Haymoor in the qualifying tournament.

This put us into the top four teams in Poole but unfortunately we will not be progressing to the County 7-a-side finals as we lost to Talbot and BCS and drew against Broadstone.

The team should be proud of their efforts and we are now looking forward to the next round of 9-a-side league matches after qualifying from our group. Thank you to all of the parents and relatives who helped with transport and gave such fantastic support to our players.

  • Year 5 and 6 Girls' Football Festival

    Thu 16 Nov 2017
Longfleet took two teams to Hamworthy Park Junior School, who hosted a brilliant festival that include only 3 schools but 8 teams! The emphasis was on game time and allowing everyone to have time in different positions. Highlights included great goals by Eloise and a impressive debut by Abigail. Thank you as always to the parents for their support.
  • Year 4 Netball Match

    Wed 15 Nov 2017

    Longfleet vs Oakdale

In the first match it was 0-0, but suddenly Mimi jumped in making it 1-0 to Longfleet. Whilst one match was going on, another was 0-0. With Longfleet having points in one of the games, Oakdale had to up their game but unfortunately Oakdale grabbed the ball and scored making it 1-1. It was time to change positions and Esme was in centre. At that point, as soon as Esme had thrown, Longfleet caught it and scored!! Oakdale scored more and more, they had got up to 7-2. Oakdale were at the goal, they took the shot and they scored!!!! Well done to everyone who played!
