Longfleet hosted the annual SEND Panathlon, in which children with SEND from around the area got to take part in sports and activities catered to their needs. Sports such as curling, boccia and target ball were in evidence as each team tried to score as many points as possible. Each child from the event came away with a medal, and our own Year 5 Sports Ambassadors did the school proud by being excellent leaders and scorekeepers. We look forward to our next SEND event, a ten-pin bowling extravaganza in December!

Our Year 5/6 Lionesses team stayed unbeaten in the Poole Schools Tournament held at Baden Powell Junior School, winning all 5 games in the process. Eighteen goals across five games, whilst only conceding one, ensured that Longfleet went on to the next stage of the competition. Highlights of the matches included eleven goals by Poppy and a first Lionesses goal for Polly.

Longfleet took two teams (Year 3 and Year 4) to Cornerstone Academy for a football festival involving a range of teams from the Poole area. Although not deemed competitive (!), Longfleet Y3 and Longfleet Y4 topped their groups, going unbeaten throughout. They eventually met in the Group “final”, where a 1-1 draw concluded an excellent festival, which was only hampered by a prolonged downpour. Highlights included a superb free kick by Dylan (Y4) in that final game, and a precise finish by Henry (Y3) in their 4-0 win against Broadstone.
