Flow chart for the induction of a new pupil into the school
Our aim is to welcome, value and support our EAL children and their families. We work hard to establish strong links with our parent/carers and their communities so that the children have the best possible opportunity to experience a ‘life in all its fullness’.
The support to children and families is offered at a range of levels and depending on the level of need may include:
- The use of an interpreter
- Targeted interventions to boost vocabulary and communication as required
- 1:1 support / small group support
- Differentiated activities
- Phonics support
- Visual timetables
- Visual prompts
- Google Translate on the school website
- Use of various technology
