Last Friday some members of the Key Stage 2 choir visited Victoria School to see the English Touring Opera perform their show called ‘Different’. Different is a brand new opera created by Key Club (a group of young adults with high functioning autism or Asperger’s syndrome). We particularly enjoyed joining in with the singing and being able to touch and play with the props. Not only was this a great first experience of opera but a wonderful opportunity to visit the staff and pupils of Victoria School. We are sure this won’t be our last visit.
Some of our Year 4 children competed in the Poole Schools Swimming Gala at the beginning of March, against 11 other schools and did the school proud. Some of the excellent results for Longfleet were:

25m Freestyle - Mia (2nd)
25m Backstroke - Eden (3rd)
Team
Girls - 2nd
Boys - 6th
Overall - 4th
Year One have been to Upton Country Park this week to learn all about trees and other plants. We even learned what evergreen and deciduous mean!
All of our chicks have now hatched. We managed to hatch 11 out of 12 eggs and we have 7 girls and 4 boys. They are all enjoying their new home with food, water and light and are certainly the centre of attention in school at the moment!
