  • Reception bread making

    Sun 26 Mar 2017
Reception welcomed Charlotte from Tesco Branksome who helped us learn how to make bread rolls.  Things got rather messy...!  But our bread rolls smelled wonderful once they were baked and we took them home that afternoon to enjoy with our tea.  We tasted some unusual breads such as cornbread and described the flavours and textures.  Thank you to the staff at Tesco who have been so generous with their time and resources this half term.
  • English Touring Opera Trip

Thu 23 Mar 2017 Sheena Webber

Last Friday some members of the Key Stage 2 choir visited Victoria School to see the English Touring Opera perform their show called ‘Different’. Different is a brand new opera created by Key Club (a group of young adults with high functioning autism or Asperger’s syndrome). We particularly enjoyed joining in with the singing and being able to touch and play with the props. Not only was this a great first experience of opera but a wonderful opportunity to visit the staff and pupils of Victoria School. We are sure this won’t be our last visit.

  • Reception Tesco visit

    Tue 21 Mar 2017
Reception explored 'behind the scenes' on their recent visit to Tesco supermarket.  The children visited the bakery, explored the fish counter and shared their knowledge in the fruit and vegetable department.  A big thank you to all the staff at Tesco for making Reception so welcome.
  • Chicks

    Wed 15 Mar 2017
The chicks have been having a lovely time staying overnight at Mrs Sandra Kent's house!  They get to have a good spread of their wings and roam about.  We have managed to rehome nine out of eleven of the chicks so far to parents of Longfleet children.
  • chicks update

    Wed 15 Mar 2017
Day 2 after hatching: The chicks are growing so fast.  They are now beginning to grow feathers and are trying to spread their wings a little more.  They grow taller by the minute!  They are fed twice a day and need lots of water.  They huddle under the light to sleep and peck around in the sawdust for food when they are awake.  This weekend they will be taken home and looked after by Mrs Kent.
  • Year 1 Trip to Upton Country Park

    Fri 10 Mar 2017

Year One have been to Upton Country Park this week to learn all about trees and other plants. We even learned what evergreen and deciduous mean!

  • Chick update!

    Fri 10 Mar 2017

All of our chicks have now hatched.  We managed to hatch 11 out of 12 eggs and we have 7 girls and 4 boys.  They are all enjoying their new home with food, water and light and are certainly the centre of attention in school at the moment!

  • Tag Rugby Matches

    Fri 10 Mar 2017
Year 5 competed in four matches against Oakdale school on Thursday. All four teams showed great commitment, skill and knowledge of the rules. The games were high scoring, with a 9-9 draw in one game and Longfleet victories in the other three.
  • The Eggs are Hatching!

    Wed 08 Mar 2017
Day 2 - one by one, they started to hatch! They looked really worn out when they came out of their shells, but it didn’t take long for them to fluff up. Everyone was really excited! 7 chicks had hatched when school finished today.
