• Rockley Day 5

  We enjoyed the beautiful weather at Rockley today! The children took part in the watersports activities that they didn’t try on Wednesday. These included windsurfing, paddle boarding, kayaking and sailing. 

   

  We have had a brilliant week and look forward to seeing everyone on Monday!

• Rockley Day 4

  Last night we went down to the beach for our evening entertainment which included crabbing and Kwick Cricket. 

   

  Today, our day trippers joined us for a brilliant day sail to Arne. It was windy so we got to have fun going quickly and everyone got very wet (including the teachers). We were really lucky and even saw two seals! 

  

• Rockley Day 3

  Today has been a very busy day at Rockley - Group B came to join us! We participated in a variety of activities including: beach games, football, basketball, sailing, kayaking, windsurfing and sailing!!! 

   

  Group B are settling into their rooms before dinner and evening entertainment.

• Rockley Day 2

  Today was our day sail! We had a great time sailing to Arne where we had a picnic and played on the beach. The children sailed in two types of boats - drascombes and wayfarers. 

   

  Tonight, we are having carbonara and then heading down to the beach for a disco! 

   

   

   

  

• Rockley Day 1

  Despite the weather, we have had a brilliant first day at Rockley!  The children had a go at sailing, windsurfing and paddle boarding.  The staff at Rockley were really impressed by the children’s amazing behaviour. 

   

  This evening we have had a delicious curry and some cake to celebrate Mrs Thomas’ birthday! We have also enjoyed a variety of different activities on the beach.

• Athletics Dorset County Finals

  On Friday 28^th June, children, who qualified at Poole Town Sports, competed at the Dorset County Finals at Kings Park in Boscombe.

   

  We had participants in the following events:

  • Year 6 Boys Long Jump – William and Finley
  • Year 6 Girls Rounders Ball Throw – Imogen
  • Year 6 Girls 150m Sprint – Sophie
  • Year 5 Boys Hurdles – Aidan
  • Year 5 Girls 150m Sprint - Mimi

   

  Everyone who took part did a great job of showing our school values of aspiration and resilience. We even had some children finishing in the top 6; Aidan (6^th), Sophie (5^th), Mimi (5^th) and Imogen (6^th)! Well done to everyone who participated!

• Year 5/6 Quadkids Athletics

  Longfleet took two teams to an athletics event at Broadstone Middle School, in which the children got to take part in four different athletic activities:

  - 600m

  - Vortex Howler Throw

  - Standing Long Jump

  - 75m Sprint

   

  The resilience on show from our athletes was commendable and with points on offer for the top four in each group, every sprint, throw and jump mattered. 

   

  Longfleet’s “B” team finished a very respectable 3rd position out of 12 schools in one competition, whilst the “C” team finished 5th in theirs. Thank you to the parents who came to watch and support and to the Broadstone Middle School Sports leaders who delivered the events brilliantly.
