  • Remembrance Worship

    Mon 18 Nov 2019
On Remembrance Day we held a special worship to remember those that have died or been injured whilst at war.  Wing Commander Teasdale talked to the children about why we wear poppies and what the money raised is used for.  He then led a moment of reflection.
  • Football

    Mon 18 Nov 2019
Congratulations to the 1st Team footballers who have been busy in recent weeks.  They have topped their initial group in the Poole and Esat Dorset League (9-aside) through beating St.Mary's 4-1 and drawing 1-1 with Oakdale.  They have also qualified for the finals of the Dorset 7-aside cup after coming second in the Poole schools' qualifying group.  As well as pleasing results, the style of football shown from the players has been reminiscent of the Dutch team of the 1970s.
  • Year 2 Football Festival

    Mon 11 Nov 2019

Lytchett Minster School kindly donated their 3G pitch so we could hold the rearranged festival (postponed from October). Teams from Courthill Infants and Upton Infants were also in attendance and all three schools seemed to be a good match, with excellent tackling, dribbling and passing throughout the matches. Keep your eyes peeled for a Girls’ Football Festival (with AFC Bournemouth coaches) and another larger mixed tournament coming soon.

  • Science Fun

    Fri 08 Nov 2019 Year 3
We had a great time finding out about Electricity with Kinetic Kate. We became human circuits using paper to show us the batteries role in the ciruit and then Kinetic Kate had these special sphere, that lit up when we formed a circuit. This meant in our groups we held hands and as long as we keep hold og each other the light lit up. We also found that we could touch a forehead or nose to complete the circuit. My making and breaking the circuit we could send messages. We learnt alot and about electricity. At the end some of session, some of us had a 'hair raising experience'. Kinetic Kate had a Van De Graaff Generator, this machine created static electricity. So by holding both hand on the ball, meant our hair stood up on end.

  • Tag to Tackle Rugby Festival

    Wed 16 Oct 2019

Wimborne RFC hosted a brilliant festival in which children initially played Tag Rugby matches before learning the basics of tackling with qualified coaches. This culminated in some contact rugby matches towards the end. Although not deemed “competitive” due to RFU rules, the tag matches were all evenly contested, with Longfleet remaining unbeaten throughout. After a welcome hot dog and drink in the clubhouse after the festival, medals were given out to those children who showed the core values associated with Rugby. The winners were:

    - Phoebe Haigh

    - Digby Skinner

    - Alfie Partridge
