  • Family Week Games

    Tue 23 May 2017
On the first morning of Family Week, we promoted friendship and co-operation within our school community when the Year 6 children taught younger children different games and activities that they had designed. The children thoroughly enjoyed teaching Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 but some were exhausted afterwards!
  • Family Week - Jaguars' Poole Park Trip

    Mon 22 May 2017

On the first day of Family Week, Jaguars (Y6) spent the afternoon at Poole Park sketching the scenery and collecting inspiration for our 'local attractions' trolley float.

We hope you can come and see our finished trolley during Friday's Family Picnic and parade!

  • Longfleet's Lionesses

    Fri 19 May 2017

Longfleet's "Lionesses" took to the County Ground at Hamworthy Football Club to showcase their skills. For many it was their first taste of football matches against other schools and all the girls should be proud of their efforts. The event, created by the FA, included 10 teams, so the girls managed to play in 9 matches overall.

  • Bikeability Success!

    Thu 18 May 2017
Two groups of pupils in Year 5 and 6 have been taking part in ‘Bikeability’: a modern day ‘cycling proficiency’. The instructors were particularly impressed with the attitude and behaviour of the groups and everyone managed to achieve the ‘Level 2 Award’.
  • Year 6 Wheels Day

    Thu 18 May 2017 C Fehrenbach
Year 6 enjoyed a special reward morning for their hard work in the preparation to their SATs. The children enjoyed riding their bikes, scooters and skates as part of their 'Wheels Day'. Well done to everyone in Year 6 for their positivity and perseverance!
  • Fidget Spinners

    Mon 15 May 2017

All crazes have their moments and we now feel that it would be beneficial to everyone if Fidget Spinners were left at home as from Monday. However, we have agreed to set up a Fidget Spinner Club (following a persuasive campaign from some of the pupils) for Year 5 and Year 6. Therefore Year 5 children will be allowed them in school on a Friday and Year 6 on a Tuesday.

  • Reception are 'Out and About'!

    Tue 25 Apr 2017
Reception have begun a new topic called, 'Out and About'.  This week, we are enjoying a walk around our local neighbourhood, talking about what we see, following directions and practising road safety.
  • New Barn Residential Trip - Year Three

    Fri 07 Apr 2017

The Year Three children have had a very exciting end to the term with an overnight stay at a field studies centre near Dorchester.  They spent two days experiencing various activities linked to their history work.  This included fire making, shelter building, storytelling, pottery making and sieges against the Romans.  It must have been a busy time because the pupils were all asleep by 10.15pm!

Thank you to all the adults who gave up their time to organise and supervise the trip.  Some photos and a full report will follow after the holidays.

  • Easter Services

    Thu 06 Apr 2017

This week we have held a series of Easter Services for each Phase.  Reception sang a series of songs followed by a morning of crafts with their parents.  Years One and Two went to the Church for the first time this year and held a lovely service including a performance from the KS1 Choir.  Years Five and Six displayed their artistic talents in their Church Service with the Worship Band, Footprints Dance and the KS2 Choir performing.  The highlight of the week was the Year Three and Four dramatisation of the Easter Story.  The audience were taken on an emotional rollercoaster as the pupils delivered a powerful acting and singing performance.

We wish you all a happy Easter break.
