We have four year 1 children who need and receive intensive reading support. Their specialist teacher is having an operation and will be out of school from 9th December until February. Is anyone able to volunteer an afternoon hour every day to read with these four children, one at a time for 15 minutes each? It would make such an enormous difference to these lovely children and would suit anyone who is patient, enthusiastic and perhaps wanting school based experience. Please could you email Emma Few at efew@longfleet.poole.sch.uk
Across the school we have been spending time this week thinking about being a good friend to others. We have been joining year groups together to investigate new playground games, we have voted in our Anti-Bullying Champions (badges to be awarded next week) and we have discussed friendship during class Circle Times.
To finish the week we dressed in spotty clothes to raise money for Children in Need. Thank you to everyone for your donations and creative outfits.
We even extended the 'hand of friendship' to Lytchett Matravers Primary School by letting them score four goals against us in this week's football match!
To celebrate the renaming of the different classes to animal names the children spent the day creatively learning about their chosen creature. Each Year Group has a specific theme to which their animal name belongs.
